I do maintanence at apartments and the subfloor in an upstairs unit is damaged from water. It's under the dishwasher and caused some swelling under the linolium in the kitchen.

If it's under the cabinets at all, do I have to pull the cabinets from the wall, or can I cut out the floor in the kitchen and halfway under the cabinets while in place and slide new sub floor underneath?

  1. The odds you could even get the subfloor nailed off under an exiasting cabinet is slim.  If you are doing all that work why not remove the cabinets?  You might be suprised and find more damage than you think.
