  1. B+Q or any plumbers merchant or Screwfix will do it by post

Look on this page and choose according to whetheyou want metal or plastic, pushfit or s***w on

I would go for the ones on this page

  2. You can get what you've just described at any good DIY shop or plumbers merchant.

  3. HAHAHA.  A couple of idiots gave Tomcat a thumbs down. hahahaha.

Dishwashers not only need HOT WATER but they like water over 140 degrees and for sanitation heat it to 160 degrees in a "sani" cycle. Hook it up to cold and it will run all day trying to heat the water.

  4. The answer to your question is> Yes you can get  "y" adaptors  from all D.I.Y stores to solve your cold water problem but as to the waste that's anouther  problem

  5. The d/w must connect to the hot water supply.

  6. Yes you can get a T junction which allows you take a spur off of the water pipe. You will also need a tap, some 15mm copper pipe and a unit which goes at the end of the spur and the cold water pipe on the dishwasher screws into it.

So, turn the water off, cut the pipe which allows you to fit the T junction. You will have to measure the amount of pipe to cut out to get the T junction in. Cut a length of pipe, say 12 inches and attached one end of the tap. Cut another length of pipe say 18 inches and attach the unit that goes at the end of the spur. You should use plastic holders that you push the pipe into to keep the pipe stable. Turn the water back on and check for leaks. All joints you use should be compression joints so that you do not need to solder joints.

The reason for the tap is because if anything goes wrong with your dishwasher you can turn the tap off and that will only affect the dishwasher and nothing else in your kitchen.

Go to a good plumber's merchants and they will nurse you through it.

This only applies if you live in the UK. I don't know what you do in the USA.

  7. This is exactly what you need:

    http://www.screwfix.com/prods/15272/Plum...

It screws on to your washing machine tap and splits the supply allowing two appliances to be connected to one pipe. Very cheap and also B&Q sell them which maybe an easier place for you to get one from.

  8. First of all you want hot water to be connected to your dishwasher. Any hrdware store has the correct parts. If you ask, they will even tell you how and where to connect it. It is done under your sink at the hot water supply line that goes to your faucet. There is a shut off valve, and it will be connected there.

  9. I have been fitting kitchen appliances in the uk for 15 years and have NEVER found a dishwasher that needs a HOT water supply, they are all cold fill only. They heat the water up to the desired temperature chosen by the programme selected,if the incoming water temp is,say 60 degrees, how the heck would the machine do a lower temperature wash???

As for the initial enquiry,YES you can get a "Y" piece adapter from B&Q or Wickes.I have a spare one in my toolbox if you want it lol
