I looked in my dishwasher and there was about a half inch of water in the bottom that had not drained. Is there a clog in the drain? How do I get it to drain completely? Please help.

  1. hello.. maybe this dishwasher cleaning and repair tips will help you in some ways...

  2. It may not drain out completely. GE potscrubber leaves water in the sump to keep the pump bearing from running dry. Did you just replace the disposal lately? The knockout might need to be removed.

  3. If the sink drains properly then the dishwasher is broken.  Call for service, or get a shop vac and suck the water out.  Then you have to figure out if the main pump is bad, or the aux pump, or just some check valve.  Some manufactures will have an exploded view of the assembly on their website for finding parts.  You can use that to figure out how it works and how to take it apart.
