Dishwasher leaked into basement just once (so far)?

It appears our dishwasher leaked into the basement.

After the cycle completed (overnight), there was lots of dirty water all over the basement wall and floor underneath the dishwasher. The dishwasher did not drain completely, either.

Once we discovered this, we ran the dishwasher without soap just to test it. No trouble. Drained fine, no water in basement. ran it a couple more times, no problem. What's going on? Temporary drain hose blockage that cleared itself? Something more serious? Help!

when you load the d/w do not wash the dishes or get them near joy type soap, even trace amounts will cause the d/w to leak by foaming up the water.depending on how much joy type soap in the d/w will give you different leak rates.
