The tablet gets stuck in the tray. I think that's the problem. Any suggestions? I can't afford anything more than $20.

  1. Dishwasher tablets are known to cause problems lot of the  times they do not dissolve especially if the water is not hot enough to dissolve them efficiently, recommend Dishwasher powder instead of tablets

Would be recommended a thorough dishwasher cleaning be performed at least twice a month to keep the drain clear of all debris, this can be done by using one cup of White Vinegar in a full cycle without any dishes added, pour into to bottom of dishwasher and set on full cycle, make sure water is very hot before using this method

Or you can use to clean dishwasher any citric acid based drink such as Tang or Lemonade drink mixes one cup of either drink mix is recommended for thorough cleaning

Also an inspection is recommended for the drainage area for any debris stuck in drain and where the food particles are ground smaller needs inspection for pieces of food lodged in there, clean when dishwasher is not efficiently draining

Always make sure you use the hottest water when using a dishwasher with tablets or powder as this improves the washability of both powder or tablets used, you can get your dishwasher to use hot water almost instantly by running the faucet with hot water for about one minute or even thirty seconds is adequate to get the water to it's hottest temperature to wash efficiently

Recommend using White Vinegar in the rinse aid dispenser this will rinse your dishes clean and shiny and is less expensive to use than RinseAid products vinegar also disinfects, cleans, shines and removes lime and hard water spots on dishes Good Luck !

  2. This happens to me all the time! Make sure your tablet it dry and the tray is dry also when you put the tablet in. I pour a little white vinagar in a small bowl and let it set in the dishwasher, because i don't have a rinse container. Vinegar works wonders!  They also sell a dishwasher (jet dry) cleaner at the store for about $4.00 that works wonderfully too. All you do is take off the cap, set upside down in your dishwasher and put it through a wash cycle.

  3. make sure you dont overfill it and let the water get to all of the dishes

Check that nothing is blocking the spinning jets or stopping them spinning

Give it a good clean out

you could try a powder instead of tablets

Make sure the tablet lid can open properly on mine the cutlery holder if put in front of it stops it opening properly and the powder does not get distrobuted

Use a proper seperate  rinse aid this helps with glasses

If you are in an hard water area   use salt in the salt container instead of whats in the tablet/powder or liquid

  4. You don't have to put the tablets in the tray. I just toss mine in the dish washer and it gets my dishes clean....No residue or rust...

    You may have hard water....

  5. First, clean the filter in the machine. Second, switch to a regular powdered or gell detergent.

  6. Oh dear!  Crusty dirt on dishes?  YUK!  I would first completely empty the dishwasher and pay special attention to the bottom of the dishwasher, looking for the drain and anything that might be blocking the complete emptying of debris and water, so it is not being re-deposited back on the dishes. I would also check the water fins or fans and make sure they are running and turning smoothly.   I would then put the trays and such back in and leave out the dishes this time.  Add 1-2 cups of white vinegar and run the dishwasher on pots and pans or heavy duty cleaning cycle.  Then try running a load of glassware.  If they come out clear, problem solved.  If not, you may need to repeat the vinegar cycle again and really check good for larger food pieces that are not draining out and REMOVE them from the dishwasher.  You can try taking dishes with lots of food debris and rinsing them as SOON as you are done with them and BEFORE putting them in the dishwasher.  I would also consider using a GEL dishwasher liquid, I think they work really well at REMOVING small bits of food from dishes.  If you are loading the dishwasher with dishes that have chunks of food on them, they are probably not going to pass through the drain sieve easily like smaller pieces would.  A dishwasher is meant to clean dishes, not scrape them down for you, so putting in dishes a bit rinsed, and not letting them dry with crusty food on them would be a good step.  Also adding a container of Jet Dry should help the dishes shed the water that may be carrying the small bits and re-depositing back on your dishes.  You can also try stopping the load PRIOR to the drying cycle, to check for how well they are rinsed, before allowing them to dry, or just skipping that part of the cycle.  Personally, I used to just let mine air dry by opening the door a crack and in 5 minutes, they were DRY without wasting the electric and I could catch those cups that had turned over and caught a cup of water, and see dishes that weren't cleaned thoroughly before they became a baked on mess, instead of one I could just finish off.  Every once in a while the kids would put in their egg soaked dishes, with the bread and everything on them, rather than rinsed.  LOL!  Hope this helps you out!  Good luck!
