Dishwasher not working. Light blinks on and off that the dishes are clean. It does not work

Light blinks on and off that the dishes are clean. It does not work otherwise. If you push the start/resume light it blinks and nothing else happens. The machine is only a couple of years old but Kenmore says the warranty has expired. Is there home remedies I can try before having to pay $200 for someone to come out and look at a machine that did not cost more than that?
