Dishwasher not working?

Question

the diswasher is only filling with water on the first cycle , i have to add water with the other cycles. how can i fix this myself, or am i gonna have to get someone to fix it or buy another?

Does it drain?

If id doesn't drain for some reason it ill not fill water again.

If it drains, and not filling for second cycle, it's most likely bad timer.

Might be the float sticking.  On the cycle it won't fill back up just open the door, pull out lower dish tray, manually move the float and see if it is stuck in the up position or if it is down.  Also you can run an empty load with a cup of vineger to clean the insides and break up some of the water deposit buildup.

depending on the age of the dishwasher, fix it or replace it.

sound like the fill level switch is faulty

Get a bottle of Dip It coffee pot cleaner and drain the dish washer and start it again, when it has water in it then pour in the Dip It or dish washer cleaner and run it through the cycle. You could use Lime Away or CLR too. it could be soap, scum and hard water build up.
