I can hear it wash, then only hums thru the rest of the cycles. wash water is still standing in bottom of dishwasher after all cycles finish. could the drain to the dishwasher be clogged and not the sinks? or is something wrong with the dishwasher?

  1. the pump is running all the time....either recirculating the soapy water to wash the dishes or diverted (using solenoid valve) to the drain hose where it goes through (in most cases) the air gap, (the little chrome thingy sticking up next to your kitchen sink valve) and then into the garbage disposer. Sounds to me like the solenoid valve in the dishwasher is burned out. It's also common for the hose leading from the air gap to the food grinder to clog, but then the water would squirt out of the chrome thingy. (messy!) There was no mention of that.....so I'm going with the solenoid valve.

  2. like the others said if you dont hear any noises during the drain cycle your pump may be bad.I come across this alot and have found that some people have garbage disposal installed and the person who installed it didnt knock out the plastic where the dishwasher hose connects to disposal.

  3. I believe that the problem is in the dishwasher. A couple of things to check out.

The drain hose may be kinked and not allowing water to drain through it. This is not likely though because it is a corrugated plastic and is generally hard to kink.

There is a drain solenoid on the pump assembly. There are two wires connecting to it directly on the pump. What you can do is remove the kick panel and while it is in the drain cycle, manually move the drain solenoid. It has a small spring attached to it for identification in case you don't know what to look for. If it starts to drain, the solenoid is either defective or the timer is not sending power to the solenoid to activate it. The only way to be certain is to put a meter on the wires to see if there is power getting to the solenoid in the drain cycle.

  4. probably dishwasher is broke id/ you'd have to look at make and model on internet to see how it gets pumped out maybe a diverter valve cuz i bet its pump is same one that washes its fairly simple to figure out---,as for the drain id agree that its ok

  5. It seems your pump isn't working. Do you hear it pumping or does is just not make any noise? You probably can order it from the manufacturer and if you know someone who is handy, it can be replaced. good luck.
