Dishwashing question?

does drying take too much energy in dishwashing ? do u set on drying or not

I bought a new dishwasher 2 years ago. I have yet to use the heat mode. I use no heat dry. There is still some heat but not the hot hot heat. Does fine with me and saves energy.

I put mine in a dishrack

I open the door a little, to let the steam out, and let them air dry. Never did use the dry cycle.
