I know its some kind of storage medium. When I was trying to burn a DVD I had to select the disc size. There was CD 720MB, DVD 4.7GB and then there was BD sizes 25 and 50GB.

  1. It stands for Blu-ray Disc. 25GB is single layer storage and 50GB is dual-layer storage.

  2. Seems to me like something to do with Blu-ray.

  3. hi billy

bd or blue ray disk is the prefix for the latest technology in multimedia removable media or dvd/cd rw disks to the man in the street

blue ray is different for one main reason...capacity...at present the most a dvdrw +/- disk can hold is 9.4gb when using a dual layer dvdrw disk, however blue-ray disks have blown this out the water with capacitys between 20gb up to a massive 40gb

apart from the obvious capacity advantages the other interesting fact about blue ray disks is the ability to create games using far more code/data,so in theory the games will be either larger with more levels or graphically superior with game creators using more and more advanced shading and rendering plus taking advantage of the latest direct x 10 a.p.i

however until blue ray drives drop in price game and software developers will continue to sell their products on dvd and cd disks, and then when the blue ray drives cost the same as the dvd/cd rw drives then software will be released in blue ray media

               good luck mate !

  4. Blue Ray  BD=Dlue Disk

    Hope this helps.
