If I delete a file (picture, music, or video) and remove it from the recycle bin, and use d**k clean up. Does the file get permanently lost?

I heard all of the old deleted files that stay on your computer get wiped clean. Is it true? Or does it make it harder to find older deleted files (picture, music, or video)?

  1. No, it does not get wiped out like it cannot be recovered.  There are plenty of free and pay type recovery softwares out there that can recover files not only deleted from a disk, but also overwritten and even on lost and unrcoverable partitions.  It takes a special kind of wiper softare to permanently delete a file for sure.  It has to be overwritten 5 or 600 times to be thoroughly wiped.

  2. Gone, possibly in a some imaginary temp folder that you will never find but consider it gone..... Sorry :(

  3. nope, nope and nope

  4. Welcome To Disks Basics:

im not gonna give you the full lesson but basically when you right a file to the hard drive , the file system makes a record in the File Allocation Table (FAT) that you have used so many clusters for example an mp3 file.

Eg . your cluster size is 4mb and the mp3 is 3mb that cluster is marked as used and nothing else can be written there , now when you delete the mp3 file the file system marks on the FAT that there is now room there in that cluster until the File system writes new data to the HDD clusters the file is still there untill it is overwritten by a new one.

So yes if you haven't written much more new data to your hard drive the file is most probably still available by using special recovery software.

  5. The recycle bin is the last stop on the way to computer heaven. Whatever is deleted from there isn't coming back :P

  6. I think it just makes it harder to find the older files. There are software for recovering files. Most likely, you will be able to recover parts of the files that you deleted but not the entire pieces.

  7. yeah, it is true but you can't recover the files more than 10 to 15 mb(approx) but you can easily retrieve images and songs.

  8. I was wondering about that too....
