  1. About all you have to worry about is to Repair Disk Permission, before and after installing new software and from time to time when ever you have any problems with your Mac. OS X pretty much takes care of everything else automatically.

Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility > Select your hard drive > First Aid > Repair Disk Permissions

  2. u dont need it, macs keep themselves clean, by not needing defragmentation even or disc cleanup

  3. no clue, i would just install win xp and do it on there (dual boot)

  4. You don't need to do disk cleanup on a Mac.

If you shut it down and restart it every now and then, that's all it needs. (I try to remember to do mine once a week or so.  But I've gone for months without doing it and still suffered no ill effects.)

A Mac basically defrags itself every time it starts up.  So you're never plagued with that "sticky plaque buildup" that Windows sufferers must deal with!

  5. FileVault recovers unused clusters.

I use it once or twice a week.  it always asks before I shut down.
