Dismissed record expunged, how long to wait after Diversion?

Hi,

I'm taking Diversion classes. I was charged with Public Indecendy and Underage Consumption. The charges are gonna be dismissed afterwards. How long do I have to wait to get it expunged? 6 months or right away??

And don't say there is nothing to expunge, because there is, it's the dismissed charge and the arrest record. That's gonna haunt me forever. So how long is the waiting period after Diversion?

  1. Once the diversion is completed, paperwork has to be processed throughout the legal system. This can take 3 to 6 months to reach all levels and have the appropriate records removed.

I would suggest waiting 6 months and then asking to have your criminal records checked. If it is not removed by this time, you can check with your attorney about expediting this.

Best of luck and I hope this is useful to you
