Hi! I was curious...on this off shore excursion, is it allowed for the kids to play onboard while the parents go ashore? I know I'm going to be going for the shops, and that would be the last thing my 8 year old son would want to do! lol Anyone know?

Thanks in advance!

  1. child care is extra, but worth it.....u wouldn't want to leave Ur  eight year old child alone on a ship. So if u go ashore make sure ur child is well taken care of so he or she wont end up in Protective Services for god knows what.

  2. Yes, We took our kids on a Disney Cruise and they could stay on the ship while we were on the island. If they are young and in the kids program then they give you a pager to let you know that they need you for something. For the older kids we advised them we did not want them leaving the ship while we are off the ship and when they scan their cards this pops up and they won't let them leave the ship. We did that for our 16 year old who wanted to hang out in the arcade and not go shopping again!

  3. Yes! I would definitely leave them on the ship. They will have alot more fun than shopping in the Bahamas! They have all sorts of activities planned in the kids clubs and they will feed them their meals too. We went last year and our 3 little ones had an absolute blast! They never wanted to leave the kids clubs and are so excited about our next trip!

Just a little edit too for the person who posted the statement about childcare being extra? On a Disney Cruise, it is ALL included. Their kids clubs are open from early morning until around 1:00am!

  4. Yes - Disney has a full time activity center for the kids.  You can drop them off in the morning and not see them again until bedtime if you want!
