Question:

Disney World Dining Plan- How much??

I am trying to plan for our trip to Disney World in a few months. Can anyone give me some help on the dining plans? There are 4 of us coming in our family- 2 adults, one is 4 and one is 1. Could anyone give me the current 2008 price I can expect to pay for the plan? I am trying to figure out if this is a good deal for us.

Thanks for the help!

  1. I have used this plan twice before and love it. It runs $38.00 per day per adult.  This includes one sit down meal-appetizer, entree, dessert and drink. One counter service-meal, drink and dessert and one snack. I took two teenagers with me and this was plenty of food for the day. Go to the link below. It will show all Disney restaurant menus and prices. You will see that it will pay for itself in one sit down meal. The link will also give a list of all restaurants that you can use the dining package at. (almost all )   It was nice to go to Disney and know almost everything was already paid for.

  2. I actually did not like this plan. Me and my family ended up having way too much food-we had one full meal, a quick meal, and then a snack a day, i think. But, with the full meals, you got like an appetizer, the entree, and a dessert. Me and my sisters often found that we could buy one thing and share it, opposed to us all getting too much food. We also had meals left over on our cards. When we went again, without the meal plan, my mom broke down everything, and we actually were cheaper on our own then buying the meal plan. And, even though it is easy to just carry around your park admission ticket with the meals on there, you can also tie your credit card to your admission card, allowing you to put any meal you want simply on there. So, if you don't have that big of eaters in your family, I wouldn't suggest getting it.

  3. I agree. It is a must. We did it when we were there last time. You can use the snacks as ice creams at the park. Most ice cream treats were about $5.  You can not go wrong on the meal plan. You may eat more and better than you would if you were not on the plan.  But for the money it is an awesome deal. The one year old will not pay.  Also, be sure to get reservations at the restaurants at the parks.  This is where you will use your sit down dining. you can also us them on some character meals.  I sugggest the Italian Mama Melrose  ( I think) it was at MGM and Delicious.  We were not impressed with Chef Mickey;s at the COntemporary. ( We had eaten there in the past).... Animal Kingdom has a nice Breakfast in the Dinosaur area.  Check these out as the four year old will like meeting the characters up close

    HAve fun

  4. On my site--which I just released last Thursday!!--I have info on the dining plan here: http://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-...

My recommended restaurants are all built into the itineraries I designed--find the right one for your dates here: http://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-...

Separately, I have ranked the restaurants here, based on combined guest ratings from a bunch of sources: http://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-...

    Hope this helps!  Dave
