Question:

Disney World hotel question?

Is it possible to fit 6 people (ages 10, 12, 16, 18, plus two adults) into a value resort? (The All Star Music Resort fits 6 people, but it's already filled up)

I mean, does Disney have a rule against squeezing 6 people into a 4 person hotel room? It doesn't bother us to have the youngest two sleeping on the floor, but the Disney World website keeps saying that the amount of people we have exceeds the maximum allowed for the resort selected.

Anyways, thanks.

  1. rent a house or townhome, much cheaper, more privacy

  2. although they don't walk in the middle of the night to do a head count to see how many people are staying in a room and you could check in without letting them know how many people are in your party there are two major reasons why you don't want to do that.

1- Safety. if for any reason they need to evacuate the hotel, they need to know how many people are supposed to be in a room. if they don't they might not know that there are people missing.

2- Benefits. staying at a Disney World hotel allows you to get into certain parks on certain days early or stay late. they will give you a key for every person staying in the room (so if you say four people, they will give you four keys) so that means that two people in your party will not get keys and would not be able to take advantage of the benefits. and saying you left it at the resort will not work. they will tell you that you need to go to the resort and come back with the key. i have seen it happen.

Moderate resorts are about the same size and have the same restrictions. you would have to look for a resort with a suite option that might accommodate more people.

now i don't know if Disney has a rule but i do know that different state and town rules limit the number of people that can be in one place. i don't know if those rules apply to hotel rooms.

  3. It may be a Florida law rather than a Disney one.

The rooms at the value resorts are small with 2 double beds - you'll probably need to get two rooms

    :o)

  4. I have stayed at the All-Star movies and the All-star music and there is no way that you will fit 6 people in one hotel room. You would be much better off getting 2 hotel rooms and I believe that the max amount of people you can have in a hotel room (value or moderate) is 4.

The rooms at the value resorts are very small so cramming 4 people in one room would be uncomfortable. To give you some idea- the value hotel rooms are 260 sq. ft. moderate are 314 sq. ft.

  5. It would be possible, but it wouldn't be comfortable.

The more people in your room, the more they charge you.

They also usually have a limit on how many people are staying in room.

Moderate Resorts probably have the same rules on how many people per room.  Your best bet is to just get two rooms at a value resort.

  6. No way, the rooms at the value resorts are not that big and at those ages i think it would be a disaster.  Unless your kids are not bothered by snoring, farting, touching, spying and the like.  Get two rooms and have an adult in each.  The nicer the hotel the better chance of getting a connecting room.

  7. Yes they absolutley have a rule against this.  They will allow you to reserve only 4 people plus one under 3 for a value room--and the same is true for all of the moderates except for the Alligator Bend section of Port Orleans Riverside, where they will allow a reservation for 5 plus an under three--the fifth person fits into a short trundle bed.

I just published a website that addresses this issue among many--it's at http://yourfirstvisit.net/ and the section on large families is here: http://yourfirstvisit.net/?page_id=22

  8. Hi, i agree that it is not a good idea to have 6 people. 4 is the max. However, there are different types of rooms at moderate and deluxe hotels that can accomodate 6+ people. Search at disney's website and look at the prices and number of people allowed.  You can get a 2 bedroom villa that sleeps 8 at the Beach Club villa from 560$. that's a ton of money. I would say get 2 Value rooms, POP is my favorite. The moderate hotels look exactly like value ones, just different decor and fancier exteriors.

  9. No in neither they dont care i mean your still paying for it and if you cant afford more rooms they take whatever you can give them (i live in california so i dont need to go to a hotel in fact i just went yesterday} quick tip: when you go rent a wheelchair and have someone pretend their handycapped and you and your entire party can go in the handycap line wich is alot faster i got into indiana jones and splash mountain like in 2 minutes

  10. sorry you cant fit 6 people in a 4 people room,

  11. Last yr. we stayed at the All Star Music with 6 ppl. also. (10,13,15,17) and not only do they not allow 6 in a standard room, it's so small you wouldn't want to try. Our group barely had room to walk around with the suitcases being in the room. It's actually cheaper to get 2 rooms next to each other than it is to get one family suite at a value resort and it's still cheaper getting 2 rooms at the value resorts than it is to upgrade to a moderate resort however, if you try to get into a family suite or a couple standard suites at the value resort of your choice and none are available you can request an upgrade to a moderate and sometimes they'll offer you a great price break.  Trying to get addtl. ppl. into a room will result in them not having a room key which gets them 1)in the room 2)food purchases (because they would not be offered the dining plan supposing the rest of you opted for it 3)gift shop delivery privileges and 4) if caught possible removal from the resort.  These I know for sure. It's not worth it.
