Disney restaurant timing?

Question

How much time should I give my family for dining (table service) when we also want to make the light shows at night? If a light show starts at 9, should we plan on eating around 7? earlier, later? This is our first time at Disney (going in August) - any other tips are appreciated.

i just got back from disney a few weeks ago..

...if u wanna eat, and then not go on any rides before the show...i'd say play it safe and make it at 7...

if you want to go on rides, u have to make your plans accordingly, id give about 2 hours for each ride (lines are gonna be killer-unless u get fastpass)

If the light show starts at 9:00, then you need to be seated to eat by 6:00.    It takes time to order, get your food, eat, talk etc then you have to be able to get a good spot for the light show.   I would play it safe and eat alittle early because there is always a rush at the park.  

Bring you one bottle water each and keep it in a back pack.   You can always refill it at the water fountains.   It will cost you around $2.50 to $3.00 for one small bottle water there.     Bring some dry snacks to put in your backpack as well.    Have fun......I am from there.

check the fireworks & parade schedule http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/augfw08.c... to time your "eating times". I went there for spring break and they mostly had fast food places, but if you are going to table service place I would say that 7pm is ok, but plan to be out of the restaurant by 8:30pm there's always a lot of people and you want to get a good spot.

7 is def a good time I would go even earlier so you can walk off some of what you ate around world showcase which is great at night.

Make sure you get a spot for the fireworks at least 30 mins before 9. When picking a spot make sure you can see the fireworks barge in the middle of the lake.
