  1. October is certainly NOT low season, but it's not peak either. Expect Epcot to be crowded as you are attending during the Food and Wine festival. Also, Magic Kingdom will be having Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party a few nights a week during your stay, and I highly recommend it. The number of tickets sold to the party is capped, so you will be able to see and do a lot for a great price. I've gone every year since I started working here!

As far as food, the person below that said 10 dollars for burgers and fries is full of it. For example, if you want to go w/the burger/fries example, Pecos Bill's at Magic Kingdom offers a plain cheeseburger and fries for 6.59 (drink not included). Drinks are 2 dollars for bottled soda/water and 2.09/2.39 for fountain drinks depending on size. There are also some great deals to be had at the Food and Wine festival! Everything is done in appetizer portions and they cost between $1 and $5.50.

  2. I think October is the best time to go! I live in Florida and have been to Disney plenty of times through the year to know! It's a lot less crowded and the weather can actually be pretty good. It's probably going to be pretty cool out, shorts and shirt weather still. Expect to pay $7-14 a meal at any amusement park. Have a fun trip, you'll enjoy it!

  3. I'll be there again in mid-October also.  I believe the crowds are manageable at this time of the year. My fam typically goes early Oct.  To make the most of your time - check out touringplans.com - they made a believer out of me when I went over Memorial Day weekend this year.  At most my friends and I spent 15 minutes in line... on a holiday weekend.  I'm pretty sure in October, following this plan you shouldn't have too much difficulty getting everything in.  I agree with Viper that you should totally check out allearsnet.com - that site is awesome.  My fiancé and I love going to the Food & Wine festival - even though we end up paying more than we would at a sit down.  It's fun to hop from station to station trying out new things.  Have fun!

  4. i dont think it will be very crowded. i think its only VERY crouded in the summer. any theme park has expensive food. expect a meal to be about $10 for a burger and fries

the waterparks are very nice. and is seems fun

  5. it is not really crowded. It is pretty nice

in florida in october. Well have fun

in the wonderfully hot, sunny, florida.lol. :]

  6. You picked a great time.  Prices are moderate, crowds are low (a little higher during veterans day week) and you have missed the peak of the hurricane season!.

Hope this helps and have great trip!!

  7. Hi! I've been to WDW a few times in Oct.  It's still usually warm but the park is not too busy since school is in session. Hardly a need for the fast pass.  No waiting for the rides!  They do have a special festival that goes on and I think it's called Octoberfest at Epcot and it celebrates wine and food from all over.  Pretty great if you're into that.  If you want to see the Animal Kingdom, go early in the morning and you'll see the animals out before it gets too hot.  Later in the day, they take refuge from the heat and that's a large park to walk around in so take breaks by taking in the shows.  I'm sure the food has gone up since just about everything has gone up these days but we went in December to see it decorated for Christmas and we noticed that the quality of the food had remarkably improved.  Just in case there are any hurricanes, WDW takes very good care of you and doesn't leave anything to chance as far as safety goes. So don't worry, they get up and running as soon as possible  -- safe weather permitting. Hopefully, a cool front will come in and you'll have great weather and a magical time!  We are Disney Vacation Club members and we love it!  Enjoy!

  8. although its not as crowded, there are always crowds at Disney World because it is a world wide destination. people from all over the world travel to visit Disney World. and school years, vacations, etc. vary from country to country. weather should be nice. still chance of showers. would recommend that you buy the disposable 88cent ponchos at Target or Walmart. you can also get them at any camping supply store. the are small (about the size of a wallet) and will do a decent job of keeping you dry. for lunch expect to spend around $10-$12 for counter service. and restaurants around $15-$25. now they have different level of restaurants with better food and service so you do get what you pay for. the Brown Derby at Disney Hollywood Studios is expensive but i have had some of my best meals there. i would look at the Disney website (www.waltdisneyworld.com) or a disney fan site (www.allearsnet.com) to see if there are any special events during your visit. that can affect the size of the crowds. also, bring in your own snacks. chips, cookies, anything that you like and travels well. because snacks will add up quickly. $2 here, $3 there and the next thing you know you have spent more on sodas, ice cream and pretzels than on actual meals. i say that if you are going to just have one meal at the parks, try to pick the restaurants with the highest ratings (check allearsnet.com for reviews) even if its just the counter service. if you are going to pay a lot for food might as well pick the best places.

    well, hope that helps.

  9. I am not an amusment park expert but I know the answere. It is about just as crowded in october as it is in the summer. I don't live in florida but i went to disney land in december and it was just as crowded as when I went thetre in July. Seriously! It won't be as warm as you think. I hope that helped!
