  1. Disney started the Fast Pass system years ago. most theme parks saw what Disney was doing and though that people would be willing to pay to not have to stand in line as long. so everyone else started charging. Disney's Fast Passes are still free. they are only available on the most popular rides, are available in limited numbers and are first come first serve. when the ticket prints out, it will tell you when you will be able to get another fast pass as well as what time your fast pass is good for.

  2. well I'm not sure about Disneyland but in Disneyworld Fastpass is free with park admission.

  3. As other have said Fastpasses are free. You insert your park entry ticket into the machine and it spits out a Fastpass with a return time, such as Between 1:00 and 2:00. You then return during that window and enter the Fastpass line to get on the attraction.

Above the entrance to the Fastpass machine is the next Return Time (ie Return Between 1:00 and 2:00). But if it's 12:50, its hardly worth getting a Fastpass, just get in the standby line. The park's central Wait board is also a handy tool, ferexample if the Standby wait is 20 minutes and the next Fastpass window is in a couple hours, you'd be better off going in the Standby line.

Now, the tricky thing about Fastpasses is that you can only hold one at a time. Almost. You are allowed to pick up a new Fastpass to a different attraction two hours after you've picked up your first OR during the return window. So say you got an Indy Fastpass at 10am with a Return Time of 1pm. You can get a Space Mountain Fastpass at Noon, or wait until 1pm.

The OTHER trick about Fastpasses is that not all the machines are connected. Everything in Disneyland is connected EXCEPT Roger Rabbit, so you could hold that Fastpass AND anything else at the same time. California Adventure is also separate from Disneyland, so that would give you a third Fastpass, AND Grizzly River Rapids is separate from California Adventure so there's a fourth Fastpass all at once.

Of course, that's a lot of park hopping and running around, but it can be done.

  4. The fast passes are free. All you have to do is find the fastpass machines near the ride, and insert your disney ticket into the slot and the machine spits out your fastpass ticket. Ta-da! Have fun in Disneyland!

  5. The fast pass doesn't cost anything. They're free. All you do is go over to the attraction that you want the fast pass for (not all attractions have them)  stick your ticket in the machine, and you'll get a fast pass and your ticket back. The fast pass will state a specific time (ex 830-930pm) You don't have to go between those times, but you do have to go after the first printed time. at the bottom of the ticket, it will say the time when you can get another fast pass for another attraction.

Also look out for the dream squad. they pass out dream fast passes, which gives you one fast pass for each of the big rides at the disneyland resort.

  6. Disney is expensive. I went to a talent convention at one of their resorts. The trip lasted a week and costed around $8000, including airfare and convention fees. I didn't even visit the park, the pass was $80 for people staying at a disney resort. It might be more for people staying outside of disney hotels and resorts. Lookout though, the room cost $750+ for 5 nights. I had a great time though.

  7. $30-80 depends on ages
