Disneyland AP holders?

Question

I recieved a renewel packet to renew my AP and it said if I renew before it expires I get to choose my own card design... is this true? it wont let me renew yet cause it hasn't been 30 days but haven't seen any options with a choice of a design with the mail renewel. I'll wait till I can online

What OC1999 said is true.  You can't get special design at the gate, only online or through the mail.

Unless they have changed it recently(in the last 3 months) if you renew On-Line or by Mail they have 2 designs to select from.  The first is the standard design you get in the park, the second is the "special" design.  The "special design" is currently Donald and Minnie Mouse in their "YOMD Outfits".  You do not get this choice if you renew at Disneyland.  If you have the Deluxe or Premium you must renew before the deadline to get the $20 discount.

Just one warning about the renewal.  Once your pass is processed your current pass is VOID.   It is usually processed the next business day after you submit it on-line.  So if you attempt to use it between the time they process it and you receive the new one in the mail it will be rejected at the main entrance.  Usually if you explain that it is a renewal they will just override it as long as you have the old pass and it has not expired.  If the Cast Member is not familiar with this little "glitch" they may need to call over a lead.  The good news is that if you are in the Orange County area you will usually have your pass in about 3-4 business days after you renewed it on-line(at least from my experience).
