What's the best strategy when using Past Passes at Disneyland and CA Adventure? What do you do during the waiting time after you get a fast pass?

  1. Here are some tips:

*Always get another FP before using your existing one.

*Although your FP says to return between xx:xx and xx:xx. you may actually use it after your return time has expired, but only on the same day it was issued.

*Rules say you can only hold one FP at a time until your return time or after 2 hours. However, it is possible to hold 4 FP at a time. First, the FP system at DL and DCA are not connected, so you can obtain one for each park at the same time. Furthermore, you can obtain 2 more FP for two more attractions because their FP system is not connected to the park system. These two not connected attractions are Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin at DL and Grizzly River Run at DCA. Think of it like there are actually 4 different FP systems and you can get one from each of those at the same time.

*There is also the possibility of receiving the Dream FP.

  2. You just go to the ride and pickup a fast-pass from the machine.  It gives you a time to return to the ride and when you do you go to the front of the line.  If you miss your time window it's no good and you can't use it.

If you go around and pick up 3 or 4 fast passes in one area you can time it so you go from ride to ride with no wait.

Is it important to do YES.  Last December, Winnie the Poohs Honeypot Ride, 50 minute wait with no fast pass, 5 minutes with fast pass.

  3. My best strategy: Get to whatever land really early and be the first on a FASTPASS ride. Me and my family did that and recieved DREAM FASTPASSES-fastpasses for every FASTPASS attraction, without time limits! It's worth getting up early!

  4. The idea of FastPass is to minimize the time you have to wait in line by giving you a return time for later in the day.  When you return at your FP time you have a minimal wait.

So the first tip is don't get there before your start time.  You will not be allowed to use it early.  If you get there early you are just waisting time waiting,  which is why you got the FastPass in the first place.  Just about every time I go there is always at least a few people who are waiting 10-15 minutes for their start time.  When they could go do something else for a while and come back and not have to wait to use their FastPass.

Use the time you are waiting to go on other rides, eat, or shop.

Then before you use your FastPass for one ride, get another FastPass.  You are allowed 1 FP every 2 hours or when your first FastPass time starts.  So if you get a FP at Space Mountain at 11AM for 3PM-4PM, you can get another one for any attraction (except Space Mountain) at 1PM.  But if you get one for Autopia at 4:30PM for 5:15PM-6:15PM, you can get another one for any attraction at 5:15PM even though it has not been 2 hours.
