My best friend purchased park hopper tickets to disneyland (CA) and california adventure for June 21. its too late to get refunds (long story), and we are confused. 1st, can we hop back and forth all day or just once? second, we wanna see as much as possible but dont wanna deal too much with lines if we can (probably impossible but worth mentioning). We know about fastpass but somehow only get on 6 or 7 rides only. suggestions or plan ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

  1. Follow OC1999's advice.

    Regarding refunds tho:

Yes, Disneyland can refund your tickets as long as you have proof of purchase AND the tickets are not used.  Go to GUEST SERVICES (not relations) for a refund.  Or call (714) 781-4400 for Ticketing & Reservation Hotline and they'll be happy to answer any ticket question.

  2. park hoppers do not need to be used on the same day.  i bought a 3 day park hopper and went 6 different days, 3 for disneyland, 3 for california adventure.  if you already went to disneyland, and not california, i dont think you can go into disneyland when you go back to california adventure.  i think the scanner the parks use on the ticket will recognize that you already visited one of the parks.  as for the lines, sorry, i have the same problem.  i try to go on as much as i can during the parades and shows.  the best plan would be to find the area of the park that has the most rides you would like to get on, and go there first.  for me, the sweet spot of the park is by Pirates of the Caribbean.  its surrounded by Indiana Jones, the haunted mansion, splash mountain, check out the pirate island [used to be called tom sawyers island] its kinda cool, but that is where i start, and try to work my way from there.  hope this helps.  have fun!

  3. um...yea

  4. pick out all the best rides you want to go on in each " section of the park" like one in the top one on the right side one on the left... when your in that section get fast pass. go on a small ride then get another fast pass for a another good ride in that section after the small ride. by that time the frist one should be ready then go on another small one then the second one should be ready. using some methodology like this should decrease your wait times. the idea is to use the fast pass for all the long wait over an hour ones! good luck

  5. I am not sure where some people get their information.  A park hopper ticket allows unlimited entry to both Disneyland and California Adventure on the same day, for as many days as your Ticket is valid for.  So if you purchase a 3 Day park hopper you can go between both parks as many times as you want on each of the days, there is no way to magically turn this into a 6 day ticket.  If you just have a 1 Day park hopper you can go between the parks as many times as you want on the day you use the ticket.

Use FastPass when possible.  For this Space Mountain and Splash Mountain FP's are the ones that tend to run out for the day first.  In CA Adventure get one for Sorin' over CA first as these are the first ones to run out.

If you want to optimize your rides and Park Hop you can do this.  Get there early, Disneyland opens first so spend the first few hours there getting on the big rides.  Then when CA Adventure opens up go there for the mid-afternoon portion.  This is the time when Disneyland is most crowded, so you can get more in at CA.  Then back in the Evening to late night head back to Disneyland.

One thing that may change this up a bit is the opening of Midway Mania that opens up on the 17th.  You can expect that this will be the first ride that most people head to in CA Adventure.  So unless you get there right at opening to go on Midway Mainia you may find the other rides with lines a bit shorter.
