  1. i grew up on disney world florida but that peeked my interest in californas disneyland and my discussion will be about my expereince for disneyland

it tried to have such a clean family freindly image from day one  and rides liek the Haunted Mansion and Priates of the carribean were so ahead of their time from a thecnological and presentation standpoint. The popularity is extended by such a sence of history that many disneyland regualrs have . I have heard that Disneyland relies more on return visitors then Florida so you have to please the diehards

plus as thrill rids become popular they have managed to sqeeze them in there ..........they are masteres at space management

  2. They have alot of money to make alot of money by making fancy stuff that will invest money to make alot more money,

New ideas = More money to them...

  3. I love Disneyland!!! I go there at least 2 or 3 times a year!!!! It's just the best place to go for a theme park! its so beautiful and always packed, i have never seen that place empty, even adults love that place.because of the rides being so classic and so cute it keeps brining people back to ride it over and over again. My favorite part about disneyland, is that sometimes at knight the fire works are so adorable! the songs that go with it is just wonderful!

  4. Your question is the subject of many books and websites and simply impossible to answer completely in this limited space, but I'll try.

From the very beginning, Disneyland was different. There were other amusement parks, but no other theme park that fully immersed the guests in its fantastical environment. Walt was chided for his lack of midway games, alcohol, and carnival attractions but he wanted a place where parents and kids could play together, not watch as one generation or the other enjoyed themselves. On top of that initial concept, add the family-oriented Disney canon of films and characters plus the advent of television and Disney's Wonderful World functioning as built-in advertising and you've got a grand confluence of attention and interest. Opening day they were swamped with guests, and have never slowed down.

But what makes it popular? Many factors, from character recognition and empathy to warm memories of trips past. The park is designed to feel accessible using what is called the Architecture of Reassurance (and I think there's a book of that title). The park's layout of a central Main Street leading to a hub from which different lands were accessed has been copied many times over, but was essentially set in a weekend sketch marathon between Walt and Herb Ryman as they developed ideas to impress potential investors. Main Street is designed so the buildings are not overpowering yet still give a sense of height. The park is surrounded by trees to block the outside world. Familiar rides are retooled to give them a Disney feel (ex. the Dumbo ride and the Astro Orbiter are the same mechanism, just dressed differently).

Above all, guest needs were considered. Stories exist of gardeners complaining about people crossing their flower beds and wanting barriers. Walt instead laid a pathway through the plantings. There are plenty of places to sit and rest. There are a variety of attractions to appeal to all types and ages. There is plenty of food and drink available (and on Main Street, the need for food is reinforced with piped-in aromas).

As the company has grown, their interests have grown as well. Walt Disney World was created to allow for a larger buffer zone around the Magic Kingdom, but also as a place for Walt to try out other ideas, like his Community of Tomorrow. Sadly, Walt passed away before seeing his ideas to fruition, but the company decided to venture into new territory and create a DESTINATION park with hotels for guests, something unheard of before.

The Disney company continues to expand its offerings, investigate new technologies, and reinvent itself while still remaining true to its roots.

Now, as to your additional questions:

1-lost attractions... See the Yesterland link

2-why is disneyland popular... Seethe links to just a few of the many, many Disney oriented websites and communities out there.

4-important events that have taken place in disneyland... See the many links for Disney History. Just a few to mention: the Yippie invasion, Nixon and Walt on the Monorail, Kruschev's visit that never happened.

5-important park info (park attendence, income, etc)... Read their Corporate Annual Report available on the Disney corporate website.

6- Disneyland Misc..... waaaaaay too much info. There are many websites and books devoted to individual attractions, such as The Haunted Mansion. Visit your library, search the web, or start buying books from Amazon.

  5. Disneyland gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.  It a park I went to when I was a kid and now I bring my kids there.  They have rides for everyone, entertainment all over the place and people working there are great.
