Ok, i live in Las Vegas, NV. Vons in Southern Cali sells 3 day hopper pass to so. Cali Residents for $99. I asked Vons if they check id. He said at the store no, but they might at the park.

My question is, if i purchase this will they check id at the gate? or can i give them my grandparents or my friends zip code? people say they only check id if its a voucher that you print online...any help would be great..thanks!

  1. The residents policy has been changing over the last few promotions.  Previously they just required the purchaser to be a Southern California Resident.  They have been changing this to require that you must be a So Cal Resident to use the ticket.

    From the Terms & Conditions:

"The Summer Fun Pass is valid for three days of admission at both Disneyland® Park and Disney's California Adventure® Park, including visits to both Parks on the same day. TICKET IS BLOCKED OUT ON 7/4/08. Tickets are valid 45 days from first use. First use must occur between 6/16/08 through 8/30/08. Each day of use constitutes one full day of use. Tickets valid for Southern California residents within ZIP codes 90000-93599 and Northern Baja California residents within ZIP codes 21000-22999. Proof of residency required for admission. Limit 8 tickets per person per day with valid ID. Tickets may not be sold or transferred for commercial use. Offer may not be combined with other discounts or promotions. This ticket may be upgraded to any Annual Passport so long as such upgrade occurs on or before the last valid day of ticket usage. Ticket not valid before 6/16/08. Subject to restrictions and change without notice. All offers, events, tickets, age ranges, services, attractions and entertainment may be seasonal and are subject to change without notice"

Note the one line that states "Proof of residency required for admission".   Which means that if they check your ID at the gate you must live within the specified Zip Codes.  If you do not they can deny entry.  I heard more than one story of people being denined during the 2fer promotion earlier this year, but have not heard anything to that effect with these tickets yet.

Now will they check ID, probably not.  But it really depends on when you go and who you get.  There are probably some cast members that might be a bit "looser" in doing this, and others that may just do it on a random basis.

  2. With the SoCal discount, a resident is "usually" able to purchase up to 6 tickets at one time. So if you went with your friends who live in SoCal, you could all get in.

The caveat is that they do check i.d., that at least one person using the batch of tickets lives within the designated area.
