We're planning a trip to Orlando in the coming weeks. We've been to Disney World before. We plan on using our tickets from the previous visit which has one day left. Our choice was to go to Magic Kingdom for that one day.

However, We want to visit Universal for the first time. What parks would u reccommend? Islands of Adventure or the Universal Studios Orlando. What rides are the best at each Universal Park? (travelling with a boy 12 and girl 17)

  1. you shold visit both universal and islands of adventure!

they are offering an online discount if you purchase your tickets in advance. i suggest the 2 park plus wet n wild 1 week unlimited admission..

i am a travel agent, and can also offer 1 week unlimited admission for universal and islands of adventure if your not looking for wet n wild as well, for 89.99 (saves $25/ticket off gate price)

for more info, email me directly or visit:

  2. you should definately go to disney world it is soooo awesome.  and at universal studios, there are a lot of great rides there so i would say all of them.  another place that i would consider is busch gardens or sea world.  those are pretty cool places, so any one you go to will be great.

  3. I would go to BOTH, because you can get tickets to both parks for a pretty discounted price as opposed to just going to one.

  4. I would advise Island of adventure if you're thrill seekers(the hulk, 2 flume rides, duelling dragons etc...) or Universal Studios for more relaxed but still fun rides(the simpsons, Men in Black, E.T, Shrek 4D etc...!Either way you'll enjoy the day as both parks are fun in their own ways! But in my opinion they are not as fun as the Disney Parks! Which ever you chose enjoy your time there!

  5. Definitely go to both parks. As previous people had said, they both have a lot to offer.  It is very easy to go to both parks in one day.  (I did so in February around Presidents Day weekend, and I had no problem seeing everything).  The cost is approximately $84 for an adult for both parks.  (1 park costs $73).  So you may as well.

Alone both parks are good, but together they make up some amazing rides!

  6. Well, depends on what rides you like.  IOA has rollercoasters and water rides, so if you guys are into rollercoasters, thats the place to go. Universal is more movie set, they have ET, Back to the Future which is a screen in front of you, and they have the new Simpsons Rollercoaster... if you want a more calming relaxing time, Universal is the place, and IOA is more for the rollercoaster enthusiasts.

Been to both parks several times. (live in the area)

  7. Islands of Adventure definitely. I was 9 when I first went there. The Hulk (named the best ride in the world) was the best thing that had ever happened to me. My brother was about 5 and he loved the Spiderman rides and Jurassic Park rides. Islands of Adventure is better considering the ages of your children. It has more of the thrill factor to it.

  8. Islands of Adventure is more exciting by far and has tons of variety. A popular ride there would be the Hulk(its my favorite rollercoaster). Definitely would go back. However If you are looking for more of a laid back theme park then you should do Universal Studios, basically it is all movie rides there. I've been there once, but I don't recall any overly impressive rides.

  9. It depends on what kind of rides everyone likes, such as the girl likes high speed thrill rides and boy like everything without loops... I would choose IOA---http://www.universalorlando.com/amusemen... heres a website where you can check out just the map and descriptions of the park... Show them and see which park they prefer

Universal is more about movies and TV shows.

Both parks are good but it all depends on what everyone likes.

I live here in Orlando so if you're looking for any other places to hit up that are not so expensive, just contact me via email hbfan1@yahoo

  10. Visit both. I think since your kids are older, they would appreciate Islands of Adventure because it is a lot of thrill rides, plus Universal is really nice as well. A lot of fun stuff

    Islands of Adventure must sees:

    Posideons Fury

    The Hulk

    Spiderman ride

    Jurrasic Park

    Dueling Dragons

    Universal:

    The Mummy

    Shrek 3D

    Disaster: Ride it out

    Fear Factor Live

    Hope this helps
