  1. Dispersal is expressed as something being dispersed through something else. As it could be dispersal of a drug through an animal's body, dispersal of an animal species over any region of land. But the addition of 'technique' often hints that the question relates to something people do.

If an animal were seen as applying a dispersal technique, it might refer to methods the individuals use to induce otherrs of their species to stay out of their territory... as Male birds singing loudly to claim a territory and invite a mate, lions roaring to tell othe lions to go  away.

But some herding animals will disperse by all of them moving together from one part ot the pasture to another. (And why might that be more useful than claiming a bit of turf and forcing others to stay away, the way some elk do?)

  2. Don't forget dispersal sales, usually applied to livestock where all animals on the farm are sold.

  3. Animals as Dispersal Agents

Plants, being stationary, require a mobile mode for seed dispersal.  Modes for seed dispersal include self-projectile mechanisms, wind, water, and animals.  Dispersal by animals falls into the category of plant-animal interactions.

Plants that depend on animals for dispersal have seeds that are adapted to traveling on the outside or the inside of the animal.  Seeds with burrs or hooks can attach to an animal’s fur.  For seeds that are transported internally, plants provide an attractive fruit pulp reward in return for the ride.

The process of internal seed dispersal begins with the plant producing fruits.  Next, an animal or bird, ingest fruit, they process them in their digestive tracts deposit seeds in their f***s. Other animals like squirrels bury nuts and acorns in different places to dig up and eat later, but always leave a few that they can't find.

It is necessary for the survival of the seedlings that they are deposited away from the parent plant.
