Who has time for home cooking, or washing cloth diapers. Or walking for that matter? We need to work to get more money to buy more stuff because our old stuff is busted and is in the trash. More Junk Please!! A car that is built to last for seven years, A shoe for six months, A one time bowl with your ready made chicken salad fresh inside. Everything falls apart yet is "Greater than last years." I like shiny new things but. . .

  1. Recycling.

  2. All you can do is to start recycling yourself.  Refill plastic water bottles.  Take cloth bags or used grocery sacks to the store.  Never litter.  Buy products with as little packaging as possible.  Write or call companies to encourage them to reduce packaging.  Buy recycled products.

I have never bought a car that lasted only 7 years.  I sold my VW bug after 13 years of driving it.  We buy autos with 100,000 miles on them.  We do buy electronics that can't be repaired or would cost as much to repair as to buy a new one.  However, my brother supports himself by repairing such products.  He just lives too far away for me to use his services.

My shoes last for more than six months but they are very expensive because of my shoe size.

It is frustrating, but all we can do is to do our part and not expect everyone else to change.

  3. First, we must break the "cheap Chinese c**p" habit. "Buy cheap, buy twice", the saying goes.

Second, we need to break the "convenience" habit, and that includes having a conscience only when its convenient.

. Fast food and lack of exercise is going to have 40% of America overweight in ten years, but some people still find time for the things you list.

  4. Tell me about it. I work in a hospital where d**n near everything is disposable these days. (Doesn't help that new regulations basically force it to happen this way) It makes me sick thinking about how much disposable waste we toss out in one night...let alone every hospital around the country everyday. Something needs to be done ASAP or we will all be up to our ears in plastic disposables.
