Question:

Dissociative disorder and multitasking?

I have a dissociative disorder and have all these noises in my head, that makes it hard to concentrate.I`m not hearing voices or anything, it`s just me trying to repeat and tell myself what is going on. Sometimes I find that it helps to do more than one thing, (multitasking). Normally when I`m with others I`m not able to focus on what they are talking about, I`m busy trying to understand some of it. But if I draw or write or are doing something else that I have to concentrate about at the same time, it makes it easier to hear what the others are talking about.

Anyone with experience or thoughts about this?

Is there anything else I can do to be more focused?

sorry if my english is bad, it`s not my first language.

  1. I used to know someone with an issue like this.  He said it was easier to start counting things in the room, like the number or pictures or just something random, and then he could focus better.  Could you do something like that?

  2. Dissociative disorder? No.......... must be something else.

The presence of two or more distinct identities or personality states (each with its own relatively enduring pattern of perceiving, relating to, and thinking about the environment and self).

At least two of these identities or personality states recurrently take control of the person's behavior.

Inability to recall important personal information that is too extensive to be explained by ordinary forgetfulness.

The disturbance is not due to the direct physiological effects of a substance or a general medical condition. Note: In children, the symptoms are not attributable to imaginary playmates or other fantasy play
