Question:

Dissolvable stitches coming loose?

by  |  earlier

On Monday I had a growth/bump removed from the top of my f******n on my p***s. Anyways, I've been having some bleeding here and there and it seems like the stitches have been coming apart. Is this normal for 6 days, or am I in big doo doo? Also, if something does go wrong do I have to go back to the hospital to get stitches or can I go to the Urologist and have them done?

Thanks ;-(

  1. Its always best when you have dissolvable stitches to stay away from getting it wet in anyway for at least 10-14 days. your doctor should have gave you a print out of post opt. instructions

  2. It sounds that the stitches dissolved before you've finished healing. Probably because the fact of how stretchy the squemos layer of skin is.  There should have been a follow up appointment scheduled after your surgery to check and see if the healing was doing well.  You need to have them redone, and it depends on your urologist if they can do it.  Give the office a call they don't mind.

  3. If you are still bleeding go back to the doc.

If you arnet bleeding take them out yourself. They are dissolvanle. Take a bath

  4. If the stitches are coming loose, then they have dissolved.  That is what they are supposed to do.  Gently, pull on the string and see if it comes off.  That is normal.  Six days is plenty of time for them to dissolve.
