Distance between Algarves and Lisbon and Spain?

Hi,

My family and I are staying in a villa in Albufiera for 16 days in July. While there, we thought it would be nice to see other places in Portugual. Does anyone know how far of a drive it is from the Algarves to Lisbon? Can it be a day trip or a couple without spending the night? Does anyone how long the drive is to Spain? Can that be a day drive? We are travelling with my year old daughter so it would the best if we could come back in the evenings where her playpen and other things were but is it possible? Is it day drives to Evora and Sintra? Can you see other places in Portugual as day trips? If we are going from July 7th - 22nd, should we pack jeans and long sleeves for the evenings incase it gets cooler or does it stay fairly warm?

We went in August 2 yrs ago and I was fine in the evenings, I think I took one pair of jeans just in case and didn't need them.

We were on the eastern side of the Algarve and we did have to go to Lisbon one day, it was a 3 hour drive one way.
