Distance from CDG airport to eiffel tower?

how long would be the journey from CDG airpot to eiffel tower if i take train and is it convenient to walk from the train station to the tower? thanks.

train is RER railways from CDG to "Chatelets-les halles" then connection to metro (very easy) the trip is about 35 minutes and the walk is a stone throw.... watch for early morning to avoid massive queue

We stayed in a hotel near the Eiffel tower in June and took a taxi to the airport on a Sunday am with very little traffic and it took about 40 minutes.  It cost us 60 Euros!!!

If you look at the public transport site (ratp.fr), the approximate time is 1h30. You have to take the train (RER B to Saint-Michel) and then another train (RER C) to Champ de Mars. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the RER station Champ de Mars to the Eiffel Tower.
