  1. the Port of Los Angeles is about 18 miles South of LAX.

    Port of Los Angeles

    Berths 91-93

    World Cruise Center

    San Pedro, CA 90731

The World Cruise Center at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro, California is approximately 18 miles south of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Parking is $12.00 per day (rates are subject to change by Port Authority).

From LAX: Travel southbound on the San Diego Freeway (Interstate 405), then southbound on the Harbor Freeway (Interstate 110). Exit at Harbor Boulevard and proceed straight through the Harbor Boulevard intersection. Turn right to enter the World Cruise Center.

    Hope this helps!!

  2. There are actually two cruise ports serving the LA area and both are about 20 miles from the airport (about $40 by taxi, depending upon the traffic).  So you need to know which port you will be going to.  The ports are near each other but not side by side.

Carnival cruise lines has a port which it and several other lines use.  The Carnival Cruise Lines's Long Beach Cruise Terminal is located at:

    231 Windsor Way

    Long Beach, California 90802.

If you are going on Carnival you need this port:

Then there is another port that Royal Caribbean, Norwegian and a few others use. Its located at 500 N. Front Street · San Pedro · California · 90731   Its web link is here: http://www.pcsterminals.com/

I cruised out of the port in San Pedro a couple years ago and took a taxi from the airport to the port.
