  1. The distance from earth to mars varies from 36 million miles to 250 miles . The distance fom the earth to the sun is 92 mllion miles and difers due to earths orbit at 3 million miles.

  2. well, the distance form earth to mars will vary...  are they both on the same side of the sun?  are they on opposite sides of the sun?  how close to aphelion and perihelion (closest and farthest approaces to the sun in their "slightly flattened" circular-esque orbits) are they?

the common answer to the "earth to sun" distance is 93 million miles...  cause that is the average distance...  although, i beleive we get as close as 91 million in january and as far as 95 million (????) in july...  which seems backwards if you live in the norther hemisphere, because we are closer to the sun in the winter months... .  93million miles is the most accepted answer, and is commonly referred to as "1 Astronomical Unit" or 1 AU, for this exact purpose.  If something is 4 AU from the sun, it would be four times farther away from it as the earth.

i'll have to look up the mars' distance, cause i don't have that information stored in my noggin.

  3. 6 feet to mars from my house
