Does anybody know of a site where i can get the distance traveled as in how far has the trainer brought the horse for that race,as i reckon this will be a good part of a racing system because a trainer isn't going to bring a horse hundreds of miles for nothing

  1. dont know of a site but you can get the distance travelled to get to a race in the racing post

  2. You need  to broaden your knowledge of horse racing by  reading the racing press each day until you acquire a knowledge of the location of each trainers stables, the location of each race course and work it out from there, although chance does come into play !!!!!!!!!

  3. It is always reported in the racing post how far a horse has travelled to be at the meeting.  For example on page 62 of today's Racing Post you will find the distances horses have travelled to be at York.

You are right, it can be a good system to follow but at the big meetings some people travel their horses just so that they can be part of the occasion, it doesn't always mean that the horse has a chance.

You should pay attention to trainers like Mick Easterby, Sir Mark Prescott and Geoff Huffer, they have their heads screwed on and are very shrewed - they don't run horses just for the h**l of it!

  4. they do.it all helps to get the handicap mark down for another day when surprise surprise...............it bolts in!!!25/1

  5. The Daily Racing Form publishes all the recorded works for each horse under its past performances.  This information includes the track or training facility where the work was done.  This information is more important to determine whether the horse has ever run on the surface he'll race on than how far he's travelled.  Graded stakes horses routinely travel all over the country, so its no big deal to travel coast-to-coast for a race.  Lower level horses don't usually travel so far, but may do so for reasons other than a single race.  Often trainers move barns depending on the season, owners change trainers, and horses change owners.

  6. Some daily newspapers in their racing coverage give longest travellers, as I think does channel4 racing teletext, for each meeting.

  7. all you have to do is figure out what state the horse came from and what state the horse just ran in....good luck buddy
