Everton defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sylvain-Distin-c34430, wants his side to continue playing with an aggressive approach and not fall into the trap of being over defensive.
The Merseyside outfit have gotten off their 2012/13 campaign off to a scintillating start, having cruised to a 14-point tally in just 7 matches. They currently occupy the fourth position in the league table.
However, the team has only managed to keep a single clean sheet so far this season, but have been relentless in the frontline, having netted the ball 14 times.
After witnessing their attack-minded style do wonders for the team so far, the French International wants them to continue on the same road.
He said that the Toffees need to be consistent if they are fulfil their ambition of finishing inside the top-four this term, and they should be wary of falling into the trap of keeping more clean sheets at the expense of their offensive style.
“We just need to be consistent and keep scoring goals,” he told the reporters.
“Yes we want to be more settled at the back but if we're much more defensive, do we risk scoring less goals? That's the question. Can you have both?”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 have notched up wins against Manchester United, Aston Villa, Swansea City and Southampton so far this term. However, they were kept at bay during their last game against Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium by a resolute Latics defence, forcing them
to submit to a 2-2 draw.
The 34-year old claimed that his team cannot be blamed for conceding two goals against Wigan as even though the Latics are not deemed as one of the mighty forces in EPL, the still possessed some quality strikers in their dugout.
“You play against top strikers. Look at Wigan – not a massive club with a lot of money but we still came up against two good strikers. That's the same week in, week out. It's not just City, United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786,” he added.
Everton will take on bottom-ranked Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 at the Loftus Road Stadium this coming weekend, as they look to bridge the gap at the top of the table.
