Although Pienaar’s unavailability has apparently dented the Toffees chances this coming Sunday, Distin insisted his team have got enough depth in the squad to cope with the predicament.
He said that he has got no qualms whatsoever that Naismith and Mirallas will be able to fill in the void of Pienaar and backed them to use this as an opportunity to show what they are made of.
He told the club’s official website, “They are still leaning every day and trying to adapt and find their roles in the squad. I see them every day at training so I have no doubts in my mind. I know the quality they have got and I am sure they can only get
better and better, you haven't seen the best of them yet.”
The Frenchman scored the equalizer for the Toffees in their last game against QPR to help them grab a 1-1 draw.
Distin expressed his satisfaction with the result, pointing out that a draw was a good result under the given circumstances.
He believed that they even had the opportunity to go on and claim the encounter, but nevertheless, refused to criticize Pienaar for his suspension.
“I see them every day at training so I have no doubts in my mind. I know the quality they have got and I am sure they can only get better and better, you haven't seen the best of them yet,” he added.
