http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sylvain-Distin-c34430, thinks that Luis Suarez’s rash tackle on him could have broken his ankle and that it merited a red card.
During the Toffees weekend’s game against Liverpool, Suarez made a mistimed challenge on the Frenchman, stamping on his ankle.
The tackle appeared to be of ferocious nature and could have easily resulted in the referee issuing marching orders against the striker. However, he survived any stringent action from the official, who only produced a yellow card for his illegitimate stunt.
The match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Later, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 hit-man revealed that he did not have any malicious intent as he went about the challenge, claiming that his timing went all wrong due to his studs getting stuck in the grass.
Nonetheless, the 34-year old insisted that Suarez was lucky not to see a red card for his rash tackle.
The defender said that the striker’s stunt could have easily broken his ankle, but revealed that he emerged out if unscathed.
“It's over the top, down the back of the leg. [Suarez] was a very lucky man to stay on the pitch for his tackle,” he told the reporters.
“Thanks for the concern. My ankle is all good considering it could have been broken.”
The Goodison Park boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Moyes, also expressed his annoyance with the Uruguayan footballer, and feels that the referee should have dealt with him more strictly.
However, Brendan Rodgers spoke out in favour of his player. The Ulsterman said that Suarez was a little late on the challenge and rubbished the talk of any sinister motives behind the episode.
“I didn't think it was a red card. Sometimes you get that with a striker, when they are just a fraction late. They are trying to time it just as they pass it,” the manager said.
The former Ajax attacker is often dubbed by the defenders as a cheat and accused of kicking their legs from the back. Recently, he has also been heavily criticized for simulating dives in order to get the decisions in his favour, further tarnishing his poor
fame in the Premier League.
