Distin feels that the match referee, Mark Halsey, should have penalized the hosts by awarding his side a penalty kick.
The 35-year old pointed out that the Toffees have not received the lions share when it comes to good fortune, reminding of the spot-kick that was awarded to Manchester City against them earlier on in the season.
Everton drew 1-1 with the Eastlanders in a match in which the title holders benefited from a dubious penalty decision to get level on terms.
“Sometimes you get grabbed or blocked and it is not a penalty. Then you see what happened against City when the ref gave them a penalty, and you think 'there should be a penalty every week,” he said.
“There is no consistency so it's a bit frustrating when it's not going your way.”
The Frenchman then went on to criticize Stoke for their extra physical approach towards the game. He claimed that the fixture appeared to him more of a wrestling contest than a test of footballing skills, but admitted that it was something that he already
expected from the Potters.
“It's wrestling, it was tough. It was difficult to run through, they just catch you all the time and grab you… it's going to happen when you come to a place like Stoke,” he added.
