  1. Weight is a vector, with magnitude and direction.

    Mass is a scalar quantity.

  2. Mass is the amount of "stuff" in something. Weight it how much something weighs. When people want to lose weight they really want to loose mass.

  3. the mass of an object is the amount of matter it contains

the weight is the mass of an object with effect of GRAVITY acting on it

  4. Finally, a question in my department. Mass is the measure of the amount of matter in an object. It does not fluctuate from one environment to another. However, weight also factors in the measure of the amount of gravity the object exists on. It is determined not only by the amount of matter in the object, but also the size and speed of the object in which it exists upon. For example, one weighs more on earth than on the moon because the earth is larger and has more gravity. However, if you were to go to the moon your mass would be the same as here on earth.

  5. th$e difference between wight and mass are

mass always stays the same but weight can change

like if your mass was 45 on earth it would be the same on the moon but if your wight was 45 on earth it would be differn't

    hope this helps

  6. Mass exhibits Weight only when the mass is in a gravitational  field or when it is accelerated.

    .

  7. In order to distinguish the difference between mass and weight, it is beneficial to know what each word means.

    What is mass?

Mass is a property of body that causes it to have weight in a gravitational field.

Mass can also be defined as a body of matter without a definite shape.

    What is weight?

Weight is a measurement of gravitational force acting on an object.

The difference between weight and mass is that weight involves the gravitiational pull on an object.  For example, a heavy anchor may be weighed in at 24kg.  That is a measurement of the gravitiational force against the object.  Mass is simply a piece of matter or the property of an object..
