  1. Hunger is in individual sense and poverty is in collective sense.


  2. Poverty is overall economic condition. Hunger is one part of poverty. When someone doesn't have house to live, clothes to wear and food to eat (person is hungry) then it indicates poverty.

    Hunger is not getting adequate daily nutrition.

    Poverty is being unable to afford the necessities of life. Poverty is broken down into abject poverty (where income is so low that necessities cannot be secured in any circumstance - often measured at $2 a day) and relative poverty (where what are considered necessities locally cannot be afforded locally).

    Thus it is possible to live in poverty without hunger (eg you can afford food but not education, healthcare or shelter).
