Example Factual statement:Copernicus [1473-1543] developed his models on the basis of Ibn ul Shatir's planetary models.
Al-Beruni, a dedicated scientist of the Muslim world, severely criticised Aristotle's thesis. He believed that circular motion was not innate to heavenly bodies. He also rejected the belief that all heavenly bodies were spherical in nature. Likewise, Copernicus [1473-1543] developed his models on the basis of Ibn ul Shatir's planetary models. Prior to this accidental discovery, O Neugebauer had already mentioned in Appendix 1 of second edition of his seminal work, The Exact Sciences of Antiquity, that the method used by Copernicus for his lunar model was the same as the one used for the correction of Ptolemy's lunar model about 200 years before Copernicus by Ibn ul Shatir. The period from the thirteenth to the middle of the fourteenth century is rightfully described as the "Golden Age of Islamic Astronomy" since it was during this period that many astonishing discoveries were made.
The Muslim world was blessed with talented scientists and an ocean of undiscovered knowledge waiting to be explored with the help of the Holy Scripture. Al-Ghazali was one of the scientists who used the information present in the Quran as the basis for his study. In his book, Jawahir ul Quran, he studied the 'spiders'. He said,"Look at the spider. Look at how God has created its limbs and has taught it the art of weaving a web. Look at how He has taught it the tricks of hunting without two wings for He has created for it sticky saliva by which it attaches itself to a corner, lying and waiting for a mosquito. Once its prey is nearby, it throws itself onto it, catches it, shackles it with its thread made from its saliva, and thus disables him from escaping until it eats it or puts it in store.
