Distressed http://www.senore.com/Cricket/LRPL-Taylor-c1849 takes a break from Cricket – Cricket News Update
Distressed by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BB-McCullum-c1129 as the skipper of the Kiwi side for the shorter versions, Ross Taylor decided to give up the Test captaincy as well and made himself unavailable for the upcoming South African tour.
“I was told of the decision by NZ Cricket to change the captaincy on Tuesday of this week. It was sad and disappointing from a personal perspective but it did not come as a great surprise. [Coach] http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mike-J-Hesson-c76286, [team manager] Mike Sandle and [assistant coach]
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Robert-Michael-Carter-c86086 met with me just prior to the first Test in Sri Lanka and raised concerns about my captaincy,” said Taylor.
Leading from the front, Taylor played standout knocks (142 & 74) against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, next year, Taylor himself
did not specify a time period for his comeback.
Releasing a statement on Friday, Taylor revealed that he accepted NZC’s apology over the way the matter was handled, after meeting with them in person.
“Obviously the news and the timing was distressing but I was very focused on leading the team and putting everything I had into what was happening on the field, not off the field,” shared Taylor.
Explaining his position, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915 feels he would not have been able to give his 100 percent to the Kiwi side at the moment, and declining the Test captaincy was the right thing to do as it would have caused significant confusion in the team.
Backing his decision to take a break, Taylor revealed that he had given it a lot of thought. He also thanked his fans for the support, and shared that he will continue contributing to New Zealand’s success in the future.
The Black Caps are scheduled to pay 3 T20s, 2 Tests and 3 ODIs against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757, starting from December 21, 2012.
