  1. These are all simple algebraic manipulations.

    Simply add the like terms and do the same to each side each:

    2x+3x=5   [add the 2x and 3x to get 5x]

    5x = 5 [divide both sides by 5]

    x = 5/5

    x=1

    10x-3x=20+1  [add the 10x to the -3x to get 7x]

    7x = 21  [divide both sides by 7]

    x=21/7

    x=3

    etc.

    1/4x-x=-15

    -3/4 x = -15

    3/4x=15

    x = 15*(4/3)

    x = 60/3

    x = 20

    Here's the first one with a distributive property to apply.

    3x+2(x+5)=0  [expand 2(x+5) to be 2x +10]

    3x+2x+10 =0 [Add the 3x and 2x to get 5x]

    5x+10=0 [subtract 10 from both sides]

    5x = -10

    x = -10/5

    x = -2

    etc..

    2(x-4)=2

    2x - 8 = 2

    2x = 2+8

    2x = 10

    x =10/2

    x = 5

    1/3(x+6)=1

    x+6=3

    x=3-6

    x=-3

    5x+4-8x=13

    -3x+4 = 13

    -3x = 9

    x = 9/-3

    x= -3

    2-3(2-x)=8

    2-6+3x=8

    -4 + 3x =8

    3x =8+4

    3x=12

    x=12/3

    x=4

    17=2(2x+9)

    17=4x + 18

    -1 = 4x

    x = -1/4

    15=2x-7

    22 = 2x

    x = 22/2

    x = 11

    -2(x-4)=15

    -2x +8 = 15

    -2x = 7

    x = -7/2

    x = -3 1/2

    8-5(x+3)=2

    8 - 5x - 4 = 2

    4-5x = 2

    5x = 2

    x = 2/5

    2/3x-5=10

    2/3x=15

    x=15*3/2

    x = 45/2

    x = 22 1/2

    4(x-1)+3=-5

    4x -4 + 3 = -5

    4x -1 = -5

    4x = -4

    x = -1

    2x+3(x+2)=8

    2x +3x+6 =8

    5x + 6= 8

    5x = 2

    x = 2/5

  2. in the time it took you to type all that out you probably could have done like half of them

    i mean at least try some before asking someone to do your homework for you.. one or two i understand, but 15? thats like a whole worksheet or something.

    youll get no where in life asking other people to do your work

  3. 1.

    2x+3x=5

    5x=5

    5x/5=5/5

    x=1

    2.

    10x-3x=20+1

    7x=21

    7x/7=21/7

    x=3

    and thats all im doing cuz im guessing this is all your hwk :/ you should do the rest so that you learn this stuff, itll come in handy.

  4. I'm not gonna go through and do your homework for you but I will do a few for an example. for 1. what you have to do is combine the like terms meaning it would make 5x=5 then divide both sides by 5 leaving you with x=1

    2. 10x-3x=20+1  == 7x=21 since you are multiplying the 7 and want the x by itself just divide the 7 into the 21 leaving you with x=3.
