The suunto D9. I was at the store and I was asking info about the D9. I didn't really needed one but I was just amazed by the looks of the D9. Anyway, that was long time ago, about a year I guess. Then, my intstructor told me that the compass on the D9 is c**p. Did they improve it?

  1. I have a D6 which also has the compass on it. I use it both in and out of the water. I have never had any problems with it. I do still have my regular compass on my console for backup. The one on my watch is accurate but can be a bit hard to read. Has your instructor ever owned a D9? Or is he just going off other people's opinions? Find a few people that have owned and used the computers and get their opinions.

    Good luck in your search.

BTW they sure aren't cheap. My D6 was $550.

  2. *****These items are like computers.  Every time I look, technology has made newer and better advances.

I like the Sunto line as well, but have never purchased for the same reasons as you.

Nowadays, there are dive computers that are hoseless, and can give readings from multiple tanks etc...

Go diving with people, and you hear BEEP, Beep!

    Everyone has gone high-tech.

Remember that no matter how nice the toys are, you still need to be able to use the dive tables.  Just like the cashier that cannot figure out your change if the register doesn't do the math for them.

Have Fun My Friend, and Keep Diving.

    THE POOL IS NOW OPEN!
