Diverticulitis antibiotic ?, please read?

My Dr. thinks i have diverticulitis, he put me on cipro, how long should it take before i notice if its working or not--thanks

I noticed a change in about 4 days. My guts weren't hurting like they used to and food didn't make me as sick as it did. Hope that answered your question. Good luck.

You need atleast two weeks in order to tell a difference.

mary boo is right please be very carefull with cipro it is very dangerous... i got blisters in the back of my throat

I had diverticulitis my doctor put me on Cipro and Flagyl they are two antibiotics that work very well together it can take a week to notice a change but like all antibiotics take all until gone if you are just on cipro that may not be enough to get rid of it. Ask about the Flagyl to take along with the other.

You'll need to take it for the full amount of time you have on the prescription.  Also remember to stay away from "seeds", tomatoes, strawberries etc..
