dividing a fraction by a fraction is the same as multiplying a fraction by the other fraction's reciprocal

All division is multiplying by the reciprocal.  Example 8 divided by 4 is the same as 8 multiplied by 1/4.  So if I were to divide the fraction 3/4 by 1/2 I would multiply 3/4 by 1/2 reciprocal which is 2.  So 3/4 divided by 1/2 equals 6/4 or 1 1/2.  Remember the reciprocal is the number you multiply a number by to get 1.  So 1/2 times 2 equals one.
