Ok, say I started diving lessons. I got good eventually. How long on average does it take a person to get to the 10 meter platform level? And I live in San Diego, and there is no pool within close distance of my house with a 10 meter tower. So does that mean I would have to make an hour drive multiple times a week? Good thing is I'll have my pilots liscence soon.

  1. It all depends on how much dedication and practice you want to put into it.  You will have to master the basic diving skills since as you dive from higher levels requires more control.

If making an hour drive multiple times a week is what is going to get you to dive exceptionally well on the platform, then it is worth it.

  2. it depends how good you are and what you are willing to do off of it...i have been doing diving for a couple years, and i just like sticking to a board and doing really hard dives...but i think there are a couple options in your case--- if u want to go on a 10 meter and to easy dives like back dives and forward [pikes, strait, and tuck], or stick to a board and learn inwards, flips, reverses, etc. but in your case i have no idea what dives you can do, and if you are willing to do dives off a 10m thats great- its also great practice to do multiple flips and twists....
