Diving Mexico?

Question

If I go to Mexico to dive should I stay in Cozumel or Playa De Carmen? I hear June is a good month to go in because the water is calmer and clearer is this true?

Stay on Cozumel. That's where you'll do a majority of your diving, since that's where the reefs are. The mainland really only has the cenotes, which you can do on a day trip by ferry. The conditions in the Yucatan are good pretty much year round. You'll be saving a little money going in June since it's a bit in the off season but it's also a little wetter than other times of the year.

not sure about june in specific but cozumel has great diving.  I have been diving there in jan, march and nov and all 3x had 100+ visabliity.  Since it is drift diving, it is a bit choppy with a stronger than average current.  Once you get down to depth and relax a bit,  drift diving is fantastic.
