Question:

Diving Tips for High School Season?

I'll be starting High School Season for Diving pretty soon, and I really need to get better dives. The only dives I'm really having trouble with is Twisters. I don't know, somehow I just can't get the flipping and the twisting at the same time thing down. Can anybody give me some advice? It would be nice :)

  1. You must listen to your coach.  If you have no coach, it is a matter of:

#1 ... as with all dives you must ride the board UP as long as possible, do NOT lean out when you leave the board ... ride it UP

#2 ... as you ride up, dip one arm and look down that arm.  That will give you a basic start and you won't progress unless you master the basics.

#3 ... did I mention that you MUST ride the board as long as possible, do not lean out when you leave the board ... ride the board UP!?!?!?   Of course.  If I wrote a #4, I'd write the same thing.  Practice some simple forward dives riding the board so you get a feel for what to do.  You should do the same on back dives and reverse.
