  1. Ha Long didn't look to good, the visibility was pretty poor. Perhaps it gets better further out in the bay.

  2. To add to the great answers posted already, Ha Tien and Phu Quoc are superb. Good current keeps the water generally clear, low lattitude ensures great variety of sea-life.

    enjoy !

  3. sorry nooo

  4. There are some scuba diving companies in Nha Trang. I saw a boat that were taking tourists diving, but I didn't go on it.

  5. A friend of mine is a Vietnam Veteran, a certified diver and visits Vietnam regularly. He says that SCUBA diving in Vietnam is excellent. Nha Tran is a good place, but he says that Da Nang is even better. Also, the Champa Islands, just off the coast from Hoi An and Da Nang has some excellent dive spots. He says that there are several places you can go to get certified. It's cheaper to get certified and dive in Vietnam than just about any place in the world.

He says that you should try to bring your own respirator and any other light equipment. Leave your weight belt and tanks at home. Tank and other equipment rental is cheap too.

Have fun, and don't forget to hold your breath!

  6. just to add to what my good friend "mohave dan" said: there is an entire resort desicated to diving  just south of phan rang right where hwy 1 runs next to the shore.. sorry i cant think of its name..[ something like "ca nao"???] but for convienience you cant beat nha trang, dive shops ALL OVER town...hi dan...
